The colors in this picture are very nice. The mostly dark blue of the background is a good counterpoint to the brighter yellow of the flower. I also like the hints of green and yellow that suggests the presence of other flowers nearby.The composition is also good with the flower shifted slightly off center, although I'd like to see this same image shot vertically. The real weakness that I think hurts the overall quality of this photo lies in the overly shallow depth of field.The entire bud from petal edge to petal edge needs to be in crystal clear focus to really do this image justice.This, I think, would allow the viewer to enjoy the textural differences within the bud without being distracted by the irregular blur. Thanks for sharing the shot.
