I don't know because I am new to this website, however, I have good and bad to say about this image. 1st - I would like to tell you that I really do like this image. It is well composed and the muted colors are a fabulous complement to the overall image. 2nd - My problem with this image is that everything slides to the lower left. Perspective is fundamental to a salable image. In the classes that I teach for Washington Photo Safari, we make a lot of images by the Potomac River. Sometimes you are shooting the river at an angle. However, if the camera is not level the water will appear to be spilling out of the image. There are times when you want that effect, but I think that in your view of the bench it would have been even better if you had gone the extra step to get the perspective right. 3rd and last - I would like this even more had you not cut off the back of the bench.
Ah,... the empty park bench, a very evocative subject. This photo certainly does it justice and is, I think, better than most similar efforts. I like the muted colors and the perspective,[ low and from the side], is definitely a plus. I also like the distinctive wrought iron bench frame which is shown in razor sharp focus. The somewhat misty background is nice, as it helps to accentuate the overall mood of the shot. I personally would have tried for a narrower depth of field to try and lose the chain link fence and the slightly distracting wooden foot bridge. These are, however, minor flaws at most and do little to diminish the overall composition. All said, this is a wonderful shot and I would be proud to be able to say it was mine.
