The Pile Maker
Description: The city of Duluth, MN is at the end of the Great Lakes. Ships enter the harbor, and are filled with taconite pellets, among other products, and are shipped worldwide for use in steel. This particular piece of equipment is used to empty trains bringing the taconite to the docks, and stockpiled until it's ready to be loaded onto ships. Thus the name, The Pile Maker.

I use a Nikon D1X with the 24-120mm VR lens. And a stable tripod for shots like this.
