SanDisk Introduces High-Performance Cards For Digital Cameras, New USB Flash Drives, MP3 Players, Storage Cards For Game Players and More
SanDisk(R) Corporation (Nasdaq:SNDK) today announced that it plans to expand retail sales in Mexico and introduced a variety of new products for the digital photography, personal portable storage device, digital audio and game console markets. The company made the announcement at a press conference in Mexico City.
"Digital cameras, MP3 players, flash drives, gaming consoles and mobile phones are rapidly gaining popularity in Mexico and the rest of Latin America," said Wes Brewer, vice president of consumer product marketing at SanDisk. "These devices are an important part of daily life for an increasing number of business executives, students and consumers. With our complete product line of very attractively priced products that focus on five major market segments, we believe that we can double our annual turnover in Mexico this year."
Mexico has an estimated population of 106 million as of July 2005. According to BusinessWeek magazine (March 13, 2006, p. 51), the ranks of the middle class in Mexico have swelled to record levels of around 10 million families or approximately 40% of all Mexican households. Sales of consumer electronics are increasing as Mexican citizens have more disposable income.
High-Performance Cards for Digital Photography
