Dongbu Electronics Provides World Class Wafer Processing for World's Most Advanced CMOS Image Sensors From Foveon
Dongbu Electronics today disclosed it has been working closely with Silicon Valley based Foveon since Q4 of 2004 to support the fabless manufacturer's development of the world's highest resolution CMOS Image Sensor (CIS) devices. Volume production of the latest Foveon X3(R) direct image sensors, featuring resolutions up to 14.1 Megapixels for professional digital photography, will ramp to more than 1,000 8-inch wafers per month utilizing Dongbu's special CIS wafer processing technology at the 180nm node. |

Carl Zeiss donates prototype camera to George Eastman House
The Camera Lens Division of Carl Zeiss AG has presented a prototype model of the new Zeiss Ikon 35mm rangefinder camera to George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film in Rochester, N.Y -- which holds the world's largest collection of photographic equipment. The donation to the Eastman House archives was made by Dr. Winfried Scherle, Vice President & General Manager of the Camera Lens Division at Carl Zeiss AG, to commemorate the first new Zeiss Ikon camera in more than 30 years and to recognize the long history of contributions made by the Carl Zeiss company to the photo industry. |
